Kiwi Kiwi Block Contacts Privacy Notice

Block Contacts helps you reduce the chance that selected people from your personal contacts appear in Kiwi Kiwi Search. It is designed as a privacy feature, not a discovery tool.
1. What Block Contacts does
When you block a selected contact, Kiwi Kiwi attempts to prevent Search visibility between you and any Kiwi Kiwi account that matches the selected contact’s supported email addresses or U.S. phone numbers, using verified account contact details.
If a match is found, the effect is Search-only:
- You do not see that person in Search when the match is detected and rules allow the exclusion.
- That person does not see you in Search when the match is detected and rules allow the exclusion.
Block Contacts does not automatically remove existing saves, sent tokens, received tokens, matches, chats, reports, or account records. It does not notify the selected contact.
2. What Block Contacts does not do
Block Contacts does not:
- Upload your full address book.
- Tell you whether a selected contact has a Kiwi Kiwi account.
- Return matched account details, names, photos, statuses, or existence signals.
- Confirm that a person exists, is verified, is active, or is blocked.
- Replace known-user block/report tools.
- Create moderation evidence by itself.
- Block every possible account if someone uses different contact information.
3. Device contacts stay local until you choose one
The device-contact picker loads contacts locally on your device. Kiwi Kiwi does not receive or store your full address book.
When you choose a contact to block, Kiwi Kiwi may process only that selected contact’s supported email addresses and U.S. phone numbers for the Block Contacts feature. Contacts without supported email or U.S. phone information may not be usable for this feature.
4. What information is sent and stored
For a selected contact, Kiwi Kiwi may process phone/email values to create privacy-preserving matching records. Selected phone/email values are not stored in raw form.
Kiwi Kiwi may store:
- A private display label, such as a contact name or sanitized label.
- Masked phone/email display values for your blocked-list management.
- Privacy-preserving records needed to operate contact matching.
- Basic contact type, country/method details, and timestamps.
- A source such as device contact or manual add.
- An optional local contact reference used only to help manage already-blocked contact cards in the app.
Kiwi Kiwi rejects or sanitizes obvious raw phone/email values in display-label fields.
5. Duplicate contacts and multiple contact details
A single address-book card may have multiple supported emails or phone numbers. Kiwi Kiwi may create one blocked-contact entry with separate privacy-preserving matching details for each supported email or phone number.
Duplicate names and duplicate address-book cards may exist. Names are display labels, not proof of identity.
6. Unblocking
When you unblock a Block Contacts entry, Kiwi Kiwi deletes that contact block and its related matching details for your account. Unblocking does not notify the selected contact and does not reveal whether the selected contact has a Kiwi Kiwi account.
Known-user blocks/reports are separate and may not have a normal self-service unblock flow.
7. Limits
Kiwi Kiwi may limit the number of blocked contacts, the number of supported contact details per contact, or the total supported contact details used for Block Contacts to protect privacy, performance, safety, and service integrity.
8. Safety and privacy reminder
Block Contacts reduces Search exposure based on supported email or phone matches. It is not perfect. People may use different phone numbers, emails, accounts, names, photos, or other information.
Do not use Block Contacts to investigate whether someone is on Kiwi Kiwi. The feature is intentionally designed not to answer that question.
