Kiwi Kiwi Privacy Policy
Effective Date: June 15, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Kiwi Kiwi (“Kiwi Kiwi,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects information when you use Kiwi Kiwi.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the Kiwi Kiwi mobile app, website, account systems, support channels, and related services that link to this policy.
It does not apply to services operated by third parties, such as Apple, Google, your device operating system, your app store, your mobile carrier, or external websites that we do not control.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Account and authentication information
We collect information needed to create, secure, and operate your account, such as:
- Authentication identifiers from Google, Apple, or our authentication provider.
- Name fields you provide.
- Account status, profile status, onboarding status, and related account-integrity information.
- Session, login, device, and security metadata.
Normal login is provider-based. Phone verification is an account-integrity step after sign-in and is not phone login.
2.2 Profile information
We collect profile information you provide or choose to display, such as:
- Display name.
- Birthdate and derived age.
- Gender, pronouns, sexuality, relationship/dating preferences, intentions, education, occupation, culture, beliefs, family, pets, lifestyle, physical traits, and similar profile fields.
- Optional profile text, such as About and dating-intentions details.
- Photos and profile media order.
- Profile visibility settings and search criteria.
Some profile fields may reveal sensitive information, such as sexual orientation, gender identity, religious beliefs, political views, ethnicity/race-adjacent information, family plans, substance-use preferences, or other personal details. You choose what to provide, but profile information may be visible to other members according to your settings and our service rules.
2.3 Photos, media, messages, and other content
We collect content you submit or send through Kiwi Kiwi, including:
- Profile photos and metadata.
- Messages, media, and related content submitted through features available in the app.
- Reports, report details, anchors to reported messages or photos, and moderation context.
- Support messages and attachments.
- Private notes and private taglines you create about profiles.
Private profile notes are caller-owned private journal data. A person you write a note about does not receive your note, and your export/deletion rights for notes are based on you being the note owner, not merely the subject.
2.4 Location information
Kiwi Kiwi uses approximate location to support search, distance labels, profile visibility, abuse prevention, and privacy features.
You may provide home-location information and, if enabled, current-location information. Kiwi Kiwi may process location information to derive approximate location for discovery, search, distance labels, eligibility, abuse prevention, and privacy controls. Kiwi Kiwi is designed to avoid publishing exact coordinates to other members.
Other members may see approximate distance labels or coarse location labels, but not your exact coordinates.
See the Location Privacy Notice for more detail.
2.5 Phone verification information
For account-integrity phone verification, we collect the phone number you submit and the verification code you enter, but raw phone numbers and SMS codes are used only as needed to complete the verification attempt. We use a verification provider to send/check the code and store limited account-integrity records such as a masked display value, country, verification method, verification status, timestamps, and safe attempt/cooldown metadata.
Phone verification helps enforce account-integrity limits for verified phone information. We do not use phone verification as phone login.
2.6 Block Contacts information
Block Contacts helps you avoid selected personal contacts in Search. Device contacts are loaded locally on your device. Kiwi Kiwi does not upload your full address book.
When you choose to block a contact, the app may process only that selected contact’s supported email addresses and U.S. phone numbers for the Block Contacts feature. Kiwi Kiwi does not store those selected phone/email values in raw form. We store limited blocked-list records such as masked display values, a private display label, source metadata, and matching records needed to operate your blocked-list management.
Block Contacts is not a way to learn whether someone has a Kiwi Kiwi account. We do not return matched account identifiers or account-existence signals for blocked contacts.
See the Block Contacts Privacy Notice for more detail.
2.7 Photo Verification and face-processing information
If you choose to use Photo Verification, we may collect and process liveness-session data, verification selfies or liveness images, face-detection/comparison information, current profile-photo review information, verification status, timestamps, retry/cooldown status, and records needed for security, troubleshooting, fraud prevention, and badge currentness.
Where enabled, Kiwi Kiwi may also use face/photo processing for current eligible public-facing profile photos to support safety, security, fraud prevention, impersonation prevention, account integrity, and moderation integrity. This processing is private and does not create public face-matching or public risk labels.
Photo Verification is not legal identity verification, government-ID verification, age verification, or background screening. Public surfaces show only public profile-level badge status such as “Photo Verified.”
See the Verification and Face Processing Notice for more detail.
2.8 Purchases and account activity
If you buy tokens, we collect purchase-related information, such as:
- App store platform.
- Token product information and intended token quantity.
- Purchase intent metadata.
- App store purchase validation metadata.
- Token delivery and account transaction records.
- Refund, chargeback, voided purchase, or reconciliation metadata.
Apple or Google processes your payment method. Kiwi Kiwi does not receive your full payment card number from Apple or Google.
2.9 Device, app, and technical information
We collect technical information needed to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve Kiwi Kiwi, such as:
- Device platform, app version, build number, coarse device label, push registration information, and notification registration status.
- IP address, request metadata, event times, route names, response codes, error identifiers, rate-limit metadata, and safe operational logs.
- Crash, diagnostic, performance, and security signals, if enabled.
- App and service analytics related to product use, safety, purchases, moderation, support, and abuse prevention, if enabled.
- Website traffic, referral, performance, and basic usage analytics, if implemented.
- Approximate network or device-derived metadata needed to prevent abuse, fraud, scraping, or unauthorized access.
We do not intentionally include sensitive credentials, precise location, raw phone numbers, SMS codes, message bodies, private note text, report detail text, or unnecessary raw uploaded content in durable operational logs.
2.10 Information from others
We may receive information from:
- Other members, such as messages, reports, blocks, and moderation context involving you.
- Service providers, such as authentication, verification, hosting, payment, push notification, media-processing, support, analytics vendors if implemented, security, and moderation vendors.
- App stores and payment platforms, such as purchase/refund status.
- Law enforcement, legal process, safety organizations, or other third parties when allowed or required by law.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide and operate Kiwi Kiwi.
- Create and secure accounts.
- Enforce adult-only eligibility and account-integrity requirements.
- Build and display profiles.
- Provide search, profile visibility, distance labels, saves, tokens, matches, chat, notifications, and account settings.

- Provide phone verification and prevent duplicate/abusive account use.

4. How we disclose information
4.1 Other members
We disclose profile information, photos, approximate distance labels, profile-level Photo Verified status, token/match/chat information, and other member-facing content according to your settings and Kiwi Kiwi’s service rules.
For example, a member may see your profile in Search if you are eligible and visible, may see your token if you send one, may chat with you if you match, and may see public profile-level badge status if you are Photo Verified.
We do not disclose your exact coordinates, raw phone number, full address book, SMS codes, Block Contacts account matches, private notes about someone, nonpublic moderation records, detailed verification records, or face-processing results to other members.
4.2 Service providers
We disclose information to vendors and service providers that help us operate Kiwi Kiwi, such as authentication, cloud hosting and storage, database, maps, phone verification, face/liveness processing, media moderation, push notifications, app stores/payment validation, analytics services if implemented, security, support, and email/communications providers.
Service providers may process information only as allowed by their agreements with us and applicable law.
4.3 App stores and payment platforms
Apple and Google process in-app purchases and may send us purchase validation, refund, and transaction information. Your purchase may also be governed by Apple or Google terms and privacy policies.
4.4 Safety, legal, and enforcement disclosures
We may disclose information when we believe it is reasonably necessary to:
- Comply with law, legal process, or government requests.
- Respond to emergencies or credible threats of harm.
- Investigate, prevent, or act on child exploitation, sexual exploitation, violence, fraud, scams, payment abuse, security incidents, or illegal activity.
- Enforce our Terms, Community Guidelines, and policies.
- Protect the rights, safety, property, or security of Kiwi Kiwi, members, staff, partners, or the public.
4.5 Business transfers
We may disclose or transfer information as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or similar transaction, subject to appropriate legal protections.
4.6 Advertising and analytics
Kiwi Kiwi does not sell personal information or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are commonly used under U.S. state privacy laws, unless we disclose the practice and provide any legally required opt-out rights.
If implemented, we may use reasonable website traffic, referral, performance, and basic usage analytics to understand and improve the public website. For the app and related services, we may process operational, diagnostic, product, safety, purchase, moderation, support, crash, and abuse-prevention information to run, secure, improve, and support Kiwi Kiwi.
Analytics do not mean that Kiwi Kiwi sells member data, uses invasive fingerprinting, builds cross-site behavioral profiles, or turns the service into a hidden pay-to-win ranking system.
5. Sensitive information
Kiwi Kiwi is a dating app, so some information you choose to provide may be sensitive. This may include sexual orientation, gender identity, dating intentions, religious or political views, approximate location, photos, messages, reports, safety information, phone verification data, and Photo Verification / face-processing data.
We use sensitive information to provide the service, support member-directed profile/search features, keep the service safe, protect members, verify accounts, process reports, and comply with law. We do not want members to provide unnecessary sensitive information in free-text fields, messages, or reports.
Where law requires extra notice, consent, limitation, or opt-out rights for sensitive personal information, we will provide those rights through the app, website, privacy request process, or other required method.
6. Automated tools, moderation, and AI
We may use automated tools, human review, and service providers to support safety, moderation, fraud prevention, abuse detection, verification, profile/photo review, message/report triage, support, and service reliability.
We do not use Photo Verification to claim legal identity, age, or criminal-history status. We do not allow third parties to scrape or use Kiwi Kiwi member content to train AI models without our permission.
We do not use your messages, photos, profile content, or private notes to train third-party artificial intelligence models unless we disclose that practice and obtain any consent required by law.
7. Retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide Kiwi Kiwi, maintain your account, comply with law, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and abuse, enforce our Terms, maintain safety records, process payments/refunds, support account deletion, and operate backups.
Retention periods vary by data type. For example:
- Profile information is generally retained while your account is active.
- Messages and match records may be retained while needed for member access, safety, moderation, legal, and dispute purposes.
- Reports, block records, profile snapshots, and moderation evidence may be retained longer for safety and enforcement.
- Purchase/accounting records may be retained as required for tax, accounting, app store, refund, fraud, and legal purposes.
- Phone verification attempts may be retained for cooldown, abuse, and support purposes.
- Photo Verification and face-processing records are retained only as long as reasonably needed for verification, safety, security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, enforcement, and backup purposes.
- Device notification registrations may be retained while active and removed or deactivated when no longer usable or when you sign out/delete, subject to technical and backup limits.
We may delete, de-identify, aggregate, detach, or retain information according to our retention practices and legal obligations. Backup copies may persist for a limited period before they are overwritten or deleted.
8. Account deletion
You may request deletion of your account through the in-app deletion flow, or by contacting support if that flow is unavailable. Deletion is different from uninstalling the app or signing out.
After deletion, we generally remove or deactivate your public profile and stop showing it in normal member-facing surfaces. Some information may remain for legal, safety, fraud prevention, payment, accounting, dispute, enforcement, support, backup, or legitimate business purposes.
See the Account Deletion Policy for more detail.
9. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, limitation, opt-out of certain uses, or appeal a privacy-rights decision.
You can submit privacy requests through the in-app support options, the privacy request channel on the Kiwi Kiwi website, or another privacy contact method we make available. We may need to verify that you control the account before processing a request. We may deny or limit a request when allowed by law, including to protect another person’s privacy or safety, prevent fraud, preserve security, comply with legal obligations, protect privileged information, preserve moderation or safety evidence, or enforce our Terms.
Kiwi Kiwi does not provide a self-service “Download My Data” product flow. If one becomes available, it may provide a copy of eligible account information while excluding information that would compromise privacy, safety, security, legal privilege, internal enforcement systems, or another person’s rights.
10. Notifications and communications
We may send service, account, safety, transactional, legal, support, and push notifications. You can control push notifications through device settings and, when available, in-app notification preferences.
Push delivery is not guaranteed. Push payloads are designed to be limited and should not contain raw message bodies, private notes, detailed verification records, precise location, or detailed payment records.
See the Notifications Notice for more detail.
11. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. No system is perfectly secure. You are responsible for keeping your device, app store account, provider login, and Kiwi Kiwi session secure.
If you believe your account or data is at risk, contact us through the support or security options in the app or on the Kiwi Kiwi website.
12. Children
Kiwi Kiwi is for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly allow minors to use Kiwi Kiwi. If you believe a person under 18 is using Kiwi Kiwi, contact us through the support options in the app or on the Kiwi Kiwi website.
13. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will provide notice as required by law. The updated policy applies after the effective date stated in the policy or notice.
14. Contact
Privacy questions or requests may be submitted through the privacy or support channels made available in the app or on the Kiwi Kiwi website.
