Kiwi Kiwi Location Privacy Notice

1. Purpose

Kiwi Kiwi uses location to establish a home area, apply geographic Search and visibility preferences, show approximate distance labels, and support related account-integrity and reliability functions. It is not a live-location-sharing, emergency, or tracking service.

2. Home-area selection

You select a home location during onboarding or through the allowed profile-editing flow. Selected coordinates and, where used, device-location information may be processed to validate the selection, enforce the applicable distance/cooldown rules, and derive an approximate geographic area.

For profile-location functions, Kiwi Kiwi stores a snapped grid area rather than the raw selected GPS coordinates. Home-location changes are ordinarily limited to one change in 30 days under the product’s rules. Selecting a point on a map is not a representation that other members receive that exact point.

3. Current location

With the relevant permission and settings, Kiwi Kiwi may process current device location for supported current-distance functions. Raw coordinates can be processed transiently to derive the approximate area used by the service. Device permission controls access to the device source; it does not mean that all location-related information already held by the service disappears when permission is turned off.

Some functions may be unavailable without the home/location information genuinely required for them. We explain collection and obtain any required permission before the corresponding processing. We do not treat general Terms acceptance as a substitute for a separately required sensitive-location consent.

4. What others can see

Other members may see approximate distances, home city/region labels, and whether a profile meets geographic search criteria. They do not receive raw GPS coordinates through Kiwi Kiwi’s normal location features. Distances may be rounded, delayed, or derived from approximate positions.

Even approximate labels can reveal information when combined with profile details or outside knowledge. Do not put exact home/work addresses, daily routines, or other sensitive location information in your profile.

5. Providers and technical handling

Map, device, hosting, and related providers may process information needed for the location function, under applicable permissions and provider arrangements. The promise not to retain raw GPS coordinates as profile-location records is not a claim that neither a device nor a provider ever processes location.

Kiwi Kiwi does not intentionally place raw coordinates in ordinary durable operational logs. We use limited account/location metadata to apply settings, cooldowns, and security controls. See the Privacy Policy.

6. Controls and retention

Use the relevant app controls and device settings to manage location. Disabling device permission stops the corresponding new device-location access but is not account deletion. Existing home-area information may remain needed for your selected profile and discovery functions until changed or removed through the applicable account/privacy process.

Approximate location and necessary integrity records are kept only for their disclosed lawful purposes and applicable retention periods. Account deletion and privacy requests are handled under the Account Deletion Policy and Privacy Rights and Data Requests. Backup or security labels do not authorize indefinite retention or otherwise prohibited processing.

7. Limits and contact

A place or distance label does not guarantee that a member is currently at that place, accurately represented their location, or is safe to meet. Do not use Kiwi Kiwi to track someone or make emergency decisions.
